Combined, X-Link Bioscience's staff has over 80 years of lab and technical experience. We employ chemists in a variety of specializations, insuring that all products are made at the highest quality possible.

Since its modest beginning, X-Link Bioscience has strived to produce high quality products and customer service. As we have grown over the years, that has remained our goal. With a staff that includes chemists from a variety of specializations, we are able to assure our customers that our products are exceeding current industry standards, all while keeping our prices low and competitive. We believe that it is important for all of our staff to be up to date on current manufacturing procedures and standards. As a result, our chemists are actively involved in local and national organizations. 


In order to assure excellent customer service, all customer service and sales representatives have a background in the chemical industry. This allows us to give our customers prompt and accurate service.

Our Staff

Elspeth Friend, President

Beth is a graduate of West High School (Rockford, IL). She has worked in the chemical industry since 1978 as a sales and marketing consultant. She has been the president of X-Link Bioscience, Inc. since it’s founding in 1996. 

Gerald Friend, Vice President, Senior Chemist

Jerry is a graduate of Gustavus-Adolphus College. He graduated in 1977 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Chemistry. He has been employed in chemical manufacturing for the past 37 years. He began his career working in product development and manufacturing at Pierce Chemical before being promoted to Director of Manufacturing. He is also an active participant of the Eastern Tennessee Chapter of the American Chemical Society. 

Derek Marshall, Chemist

Derek is a recent graduate from Lee University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. He has been head chemist of Quality Assurance at X-Link Bioscience, Inc. for the past two years.
